Steve started acting full time at the age of 16. He attended Southport College, where he achieved a BTech National Diploma in performing arts.
It was in his last couple of months on the course when he was offered the chance to audition for Liverpool soap Brookside, something he had done a year earlier where he was unsuccessful in getting the part.
12 Months later though and this time the outcome was different, Steve was offered the role of Steve Murray, eldest son in the Murray family and it wasn’t long before that character become a regular feature in the show.
Steve Murray was a boxer, footballer and mechanic so it was a dream role for Steve.
Steve’s talents were recognised by the public as he was nominated for best on screen partnership at the soap awards in 2003 along with partner in crime Phil Olivier (Tinhead) |

When the show finished in 2004 Steve done an episode of daytime courtroom drama (The Courtroom) on channel 4 then straight after moved over to Hollyoaks to play firefighter Callum, the womanising, lout. This was a great role as it involved allot of comedy something, which Steve has always had a passion for.
A year later and Steve was on his travels again working on Casualty as a young, hard working father who ends up having a nasty accident in work. The role involved prosthetics, something Steve had never before had experience with, but it opened his eyes to a whole new world in TV.
Next it was Doctor’s for BBC after an old friend and Director offered him a role as tennis coach Harvard Chase, another comedic role that Steve loved playing.
After Casualty Steve went to audition for The Bill to find that it was also another Director he had worked with in the past and was offered the part on the spot.
It was the first time in The Bill they had ever used a Scouser as a solicitor, but the writer of the episode was a Liverpudlian and wanted to show Scousers in a good light. It was a fantastic part for Steve.
Steve has since been working in theatre starring in one night in Istanbul at the Liverpool Empire as Joseph, one of the lead characters. The show became the fastest ever selling play at the Empire theatre.
Steve has also been involved in productions at the Everyman and worked at Stockport plaza for a 6 week run as Dick Whittington.
Steve has since set up a management and production company called 20ten Entertainment and is working on concepts for TV and Radio and is preparing for a movie which is being shot in August/September this year before finishing the year with a panto at Middleton arena.
